Popular dating app Hinge wanted to explore how to improve its user experience for daters with ADHD. After training their staff, I consulted with their user research team on a landmark study of over 60,000 users to understand the challenges and needs of daters with ADHD. The research resulted in a public report “Love and ADHD,” and the insights informed new product features to improve UX for all daters (features currently in development).

90% of those with sensory sensitivities say they find dentist visits difficult, and many avoid the dentist as a result. To address this, Sensodyne launched a multi-year initiative to increase sensory inclusion in oral health care. Includes: public education through VOX documentary film “Sensory Overload,” CE-accredited courses for Dentists in partnership with American Dental Association, and resources for patients. As a member of the advisory council I have provided consultation on the initiative concept, positioning, materials, language and more.

Neurodivergent kids grow up to be neurodivergent adults, and face many barriers in the transition from school to work. That is why I was thrilled to participate as an advisor on the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD)'s Workforce and Employment Steering Committee. In this role I advised on policy and advocacy initiatives, campaign efforts, and partnership opportunities that can accelerate NCLD’s efforts to ensure individuals with LD can access stable and sustaining careers.

People with disabilities make up about 20% of the population, but are featured in less than 2% of the images we see in the media.

To improve disability representation in the media, in 2018 I spearheaded a partnership between Getty Images, Verizon Media and the National Disability Leadership Alliance to create The Disability Collection, a landmark collection of stock images that break stereotypes and authentically portray people with disabilities in everyday life.

The images have been downloaded by over 5,000 businesses around the world, helping to mainstream representation of disability in everyday life.
